The Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. today announced updates regarding two CAP staff members taking on new and exciting roles as part of the Board of Directors for the California Medical Group Management Association, an organization composed of medical group managers and people who provide services to medical practices.

CAP has announced that CAP member Dr. C. Freeman has been named the 147th President of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA) at the organization’s Annual Installation of Officers in Santa Monica on June 21st. Dr. Freeman has been a member of CAP since 2005 and is the first African American and African American female president in the group’s history.

CAP announced that its poster highlighting its comprehensive risk management residency training program has been selected to appear at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) Patient Safety Congress, taking place May 23​–25, 2018, in Boston. 

CAP announced that Vice President for Practice Optimization, Carole Lambert, MPA, RN will speak at the Southern California Association for Healthcare Risk Management (SCAHRM) 38th Annual Educational Conference in Rancho Mirage, CA on Thursday, May 3 at 10:05 a.m. 

Today CAP announced the release of another of its invaluable content resources for physicians, The Physician's Action Guide to Starting Your Own Practice. This "how-to" guide reflects the collective experience of numerous CAP member-physicians who have transitioned from paid employee to self-employed practitioner.
