CAP announced that its inaugural Public Affairs Symposium will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at CAP’s offices at 333 S. Hope Street in Los Angeles. The symposium will feature speakers from Californians Allied for Patient Protection, Capitol Advocacy, and Holland & Knight as they provide top-level policy commentary on the state of California’s Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA) and other policy-related topics.

Today CAP announced that CAP Physicians Insurance Agency, Inc. (CAP Agency), a wholly owned subsidiary of CAP, was recently appointed to The Hanover Insurance Group’s President’s Club, an elite group of independent insurance agencies from across the country.

Today CAP announced that CEO Sarah Pacini will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Southern California Association for Healthcare Risk Management (SCAHRM) Annual Educational Conference. The conference, set for May 1 to 3, will be held at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. CAP is also a sponsor of the event.

CAP announced that Hammon P. Acuna has been appointed as the organization's Senior Vice President and Chief Membership Officer. Mr. Acuna will oversee and direct the activities and performance of Membership, including the Mutual Protection Trust (MPT) Membership Development; Membership Services and Membership Programs; and the Risk Assessment Peer Review Unit – ensuring that the CAP enterprise meets its growth and retention goals.

In addition to cosponsoring this year’s California Medical Group Management Association Annual Conference, CAP has announced that CAP Vice President of Membership Development Daniel Cavanaugh will start his term as CAMGMA President at the beginning of the conference. The conference is being held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Golf Resort Palm Springs from March 28-30.
