OCMA Physician Wellness: Emotion Freedom Technique for Health Care Professionals: How to Use EFT to Help Challenging Patients and Also Help Ourselves

Description

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a mindfulness technique that has been found to be safe and effective in hundred of clinical trials. Therapists use EFT to help those suffering from depression, anxiety, pain, post-traumatic stress and other conditions. It has been approved by the US Veterans Affairs Administration for use during therapy. Patients report improvements in happiness and well-being and decreased depressive symptoms. EFT combines elements of popular therapies, such as CBT, with breathing and acupressure—in the form of tapping with the fingertips on acupuncture points. For this reason it’s often called “tapping.”
