Independent Physician Reimbursement Issues and Legal Solutions (Los Angeles)

This program, a joint effort of the LACBA Healthcare Law Section and Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. (CAP), will focus on independent physicians reimbursement issues and legal solutions. The experts will discuss every aspect of obtaining proper reimbursement for non-contracted care.

Mike Bidart, Esq., will discuss the ever present issue of medical necessity, and the law regarding medical necessity determinations. Robert Gianelli, Esq. will present class action case law over implementation of AB72 and it’s impact on independent physicians. Daron Tooch, Esq. will discuss legal remedies to inadequate reimbursement under AB72 for non-contracted, non-emergency medical care, and a flawed state run review process. Pat Hooper, Esq. will present issues on the long standing and ever present recover actions against physicians by both government agencies and private payors. Robert Bitonte, MD, JD, Program Chair will be moderating the panel.
