Your CAP Member Automatic Insurance Benefits Have Increased

As a CAP member, you receive automatic life and disability insurance, providing essential protection for you and your family in the event of injury, illness, or loss.

Effective January 1, 2026, your automatic life and disability benefits increased.
Life Insurance Benefit:Increased by $5,000—from $10,000 to $15,000
Disability Insurance Benefit:Doubled from $2,000/month to $4,000/month

 

CAP members also receive these automatic benefits at no cost:

  • Employment Practices Policy (EPP): Up to $50,000 for legal expenses associated with employment-related lawsuits
  • MedGuard Policy: Up to $25,000 per year in legal expenses associated with certain disciplinary proceedings or government investigations of alleged fraud, abuse, or non-compliance
  • CyberRisk Insurance: Provides $50,000 of protection against potential data breaches

Certain exclusions and/or deductibles may apply.

¹New CAP members within the first 90 days of membership have the option to purchase up to $500,000 in life insurance with no required health exams. Members who are currently enrolled in supplemental life coverage and not at the current $500,000 maximum may get an additional $50,000 of life insurance benefits with no medical underwriting required.

²To be eligible, you must be working in healthcare at least 17.5 hours/week and cannot be currently disabled or at the time coverage becomes effective. Other limited time pre-existing condition exclusions may apply. Income from the tax year immediately prior will be used to determine benefit at time of claim for long-term disability.
