Cooperative of American Physicians Member Dr. C. Freeman Named President of Los Angeles County Medical Association

Dr. Freeman Installed as President at June 21st Event

LOS ANGELES, July 2, 2018 – The Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. (CAP) has announced that CAP member Dr. C. Freeman has been named the 147th President of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA) at the organization’s Annual Installation of Officers in Santa Monica on June 21st. Dr. Freeman has been a member of CAP since 2005 and is the first African American and African American female president in the group’s history. CAP was a platinum sponsor of the installation event.

A Geriatric Psychiatrist affiliated with California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, Dr. Freeman is now the Program Director for the newly accredited Psychiatry Residency Training Program at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. She received her medical degree from Howard University, dual training in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Virginia, and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
