Word Processor
Word Processor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe dictation via Winscribe back file conversion and/or type from handwritten material or through draft copy, including correspondence relating to litigation (pleadings, court forms, reports, summaries, etc.) and release
  • Follow instructions on accompanying material to determine format and content required
  • Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation and format; sort and print documents
  • Assist in the conversion of documents to current software programs
  • Prioritize word processing documents to ensure timely completion
  • Provide back-up assistance to Index Clerks with daily mail and document management
  • Troubleshoot IT issues in regards to Winscribe, printer set-up; OnBase set up; etc.
  • Employee education and awareness is an important element in the company’s cybersecurity program. Accordingly, as Word Processor are responsible for being cautious and vigilant when opening emails, attachments, links, etc. on CAP’s computer equipment or when accessing the company system remotely. It is also the Word Processor’s responsibility to complete cybersecurity training modules that are periodically distributed by CAP’s IT department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Underwriter II
Underwriter II

The Underwriting department has a new position available for Underwriter II to perform technical and administrative duties to assess eligibility for coverage and underwrite applications for CAP membership, including group submissions, special coverages, waivers of exclusions, and entity, employee, TEP and ORP coverages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Underwriting

  • Work with Membership Development to pre-underwriting and quote physician applicants and groups
  • Underwrite applications for membership, including their related coverage requests, and applications for entity, employee, TEP and ORP coverages submitted by solo practitioners and groups of various sizes.  Gather and review additional information about the solo and group practices, as needed. 
  • Evaluate and prepare a risk assessment on groups
  • Rate applicants and groups according to underwriting guidelines
  • Prepare and organize applicant materials and place materials in the QCC Portal for viewing and voting by QCC Members
  • Explain coverage, exclusions, financial obligations, membership-related obligations and programs to applicants and group administrators
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of data input into CAP System and Salesforce
  • Prepare CAP acceptance documents for all approved physician, TEP, ORP, employee and entity applicants
  • Complete applicant processing to Member status, including processing requests for part-time coverage, risk class reduction, higher limits, waivers of coverage and declarations of coverage
  • Follow up to close the sale on approved but not joined applicant physicians and their related entities, employees, TEPs and ORPs
  • Communicate effectively with the Underwriting Assistants and Account Executives throughout the underwriting and follow-up process
  • Work with Underwriting team on ongoing process improvement
  • Provide training to entry level Underwriters, as necessary

Additional

  • Coordinate with Membership Services to underwrite membership transfers
  • Work to achieve annual department metrics for underwriting turn-around-times and department goals

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years work experience in medical professional liability insurance
  • Experience in professional liability underwriting of solo physicians and medical groups preferred

Programmer/Analyst
Programmer/Analyst

Summary:

Responsible for the performance of systems analysis, applications programming, and user training, connected with the development and maintenance of the organization’s automated data processing functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical studies on proposed systems and system enhancements.  Through consultation with the user base, gather complete specifications for approved systems projects prior to development.  Report to IS Management on issues of feasibility, time and effort requirements, and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Complete the development of approved systems projects from design through coding, testing, implementation, documentation, and end-user training.  Maintain open communications with key user sources during the project life.
  • Provide ongoing user training and assistance, as needed.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to the department and the company by keeping abreast of current industry trends.  Become conversant in new, relevant information technologies, evaluating new product offerings, training other programmers within the department, and making recommendations to IS Management as to possible future directions in both the areas of software and hardware development.
  • As an information Technology professional, you are responsible for the secure design and implementation of systems and networks, prevention of security incidents, and detection of threats to that security. You are expected to follow established company security policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards. You are expected to remain aware of industry “best practices” in the area of cyber security.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related field or minimum 3 years programming experience
  • Enterprise web application programming experience in the following:
    • C#, .NET, MVC, Angular, Bootstrap, Java Script, TypeScript, HTML,
    • Mobil first/Responsive Design.
    • Using Visual Studio 2015
    • Accessing data from Oracle and SQL Server databases
    • Understanding of relational data base design

New Member Coordinator
New Member Coordinator

Summary

CAP’s Membership Development department seeks a New Member Coordinator to provide sales and administrative support for the Vice President of Membership Development and the Account Executives (AEs). Working as a team member with fellow support staff, the incumbent will complete various marketing activities in a professional manner, in keeping with an A+ Superior organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales Support

  • Coordinate department calendar and provide advance notification to AE’s for all meetings, exhibits, and events. Make travel arrangements as necessary
  • Update Salesforce daily
  • Prepare and mail quotes, proposals, and application packages
  • Prepare group proposals/indications
  • Qualify incoming digital leads and assign to account executives for follow up
  • Prepare, send and track regional mailings for AEs - Fulfillment of Direct Mail Pieces
  • Plan, schedule, and make all preparations for events and exhibits, making venue and meal reservations.
  • Promote events including formatting of pre and post-event communications, registration and landing pages.

Vice President / Departmental Support

  • Monitor workgroup phone coverage to ensure adequate availability to prospective members
  • Schedule and make all preparations for Membership Development Sales Meetings
  • Prepare presentation and agenda materials
  • Track inventory monthly and reorder office supplies and promotional materials interdepartmentally
  • Employee education and awareness is an important element in the company’s cybersecurity program. Accordingly, the New Member Coordinator is responsible for being cautious and vigilant when opening emails, attachments, links, etc. on CAP’s computer equipment or when accessing the company system remotely. It is also the New Member Coordinator’s responsibility to complete cybersecurity training modules that are periodically distributed by CAP’s IT department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Related college coursework preferred
  • 3 years customer service experience in the insurance industry or healthcare field​
