2011 CME RISK MANAGEMENT PROGRAM SCHEDULE

A reservation must be made for this program: Please submit your risk management program reply form or call CAP’s Risk Management & Patient Safety Department at 213-473-8644 to confirm your attendance for one of the programs.
All programs will start at 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated and are approximately three hours long. Please make appropriate arrangements in your call schedule. Dinner will be available at 5:30 p.m.
By the completion of this lecture, the participant will be able to:
1. Discuss the issues most often seen in professional liability lawsuits.
2. Identify medical conditions that are most prone to diagnostic error.
3. Discuss the physician-patient relationship and the role the physician plays as a patient advocate.
4. Discuss the guidelines for informed consent.
5. Identify systems that help prevent patient injury.
6. Discuss the advantages of arbitration.
7. Identify current and evolving risks in medicine.
8. Formulate informed consent discussions that appropriately address culture and/or language barriers.
