CURES 2.0: Have You Registered?

In California law, all individuals practicing in California who possess both a state regulatory board license authorized to prescribe, dispense, furnish, or order controlled substances and a Drug Enforcement Administration Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (DEA Certificate) must register for access to the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) by July 1, 2016.

CURES 2.0 is a database of Schedule II, III, and IV controlled substance prescriptions dispensed in California.  California’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program is committed to the reduction of prescription drug abuse and diversion without affecting legitimate medical practice or patient care.
