John E. Ingram, MD

JOHN E. INGRAM, MD is a board certified urologist currently practicing in Long Beach. Dr. Ingram is a member of the California Medical Association, the Los Angeles County Medical Association, and the Orange County Urological Association. A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, Dr. Ingram previously served as Chief of Urology and Chief of Staff at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Dr. Ingram joined CAP in 1979, has served on the CAP Board of Directors as of 1990 and was elected chair of the CAP Board of Directors in 2005.

JUAN CARLOS COBO, MD, FACS
JUAN CARLOS COBO, MD, FACS is a board certified general surgeon who has been in private practice in South Orange County since 1984. Dr. Cobo earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and completed his general surgery training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance. He is a member of the Orange County Medical Association (OCMA), the California Medical Association, and the Southern California Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Cobo served as the Orange County Medical Association’s 107th president. He also served as an OCMA delegation member to the California Medical Association’s House of Delegates and spent three terms on the Board of Trustees of the California Medical Association. A CAP member since 1984, Dr. Cobo joined its Board of Directors in 1998, and was elected to the MPT Board of Trustees in 2006. Dr. Cobo was elected to chair the MPT Board of Trustees in 2009.
PAUL GOTTLIEB, MD
PAUL GOTTLIEB, MD is a board certified urologist in private practice since 1975. A graduate of the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dr. Gottlieb is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland and the American College of Surgeons. A previous chair of the Department of Urology at Mercy San Juan Medical Center, Dr. Gottlieb currently serves as urological advisor to the Northern California Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, urological consultant to the Medical Board of California, and urology consultant to the Mercy Tumor Board. Dr. Gottlieb is a member of the selection board for candidates for the American College of Surgeons, the American Urological Society, and the California Medical Association. Dr. Gottlieb became a CAP member in 1978, joining its Board of Directors in 1983.
BÉLA KENESSEY, MD
BÉLA KENESSEY, MD is a board certified family practitioner who established his practice in San Ramon in 1992. Following graduation from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Medicine in 1989, he attended the USC/PIH Family Practice Residency Program where he served as Chief Resident from 1991-1992. There he was honored with the Resident Teacher Award by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. He currently remains a clinical instructor with the Department of Family Medicine at Keck School of Medicine, USC. Dr. Kenessey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Business from University of California, Los Angeles and has served on several boards including his local hospital. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer for a community nonprofit organization and a Sleep Diagnostics Center. Dr. Kenessey has been a CAP member since 1997 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2009.
MALCOLM PAUL, MD
MALCOLM PAUL, MD is a board certified Newport Beach plastic surgeon and graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Paul completed his residency training in plastic surgery at George Washington University Medical Center in 1975, and received his fellowship from the American College of Surgeons. Currently, Dr. Paul is clinical professor of Surgery at the Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery Institute at the University of California, Irvine, and co-director of its resident aesthetic surgery training. He is the North American Editor for the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal, as well as Assistant National Secretaries Chair and U.S. National Secretary for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Former posts include president of the Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons, president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and president of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Paul joined CAP in 1981 and its Board of Directors in 2000.
GRAHAM PURCELL, MD
GRAHAM PURCELL, MD is a Santa Monica board certified orthopedic surgeon in private practice since 1984. A graduate of the University of Alberta Medical School in Canada, Dr. Purcell completed his orthopedic residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the John Moe Spine Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He is currently an assistant clinical professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCLA and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and Scoliosis Research Society. Elected to the CAP Board of Directors in 2005, Dr. Purcell became a CAP member in 1989.
STEWART SHANFIELD, MD
STEWART SHANFIELD, MD has been a board certified orthopedic surgeon since 1988, currently in practice with the Fullerton Orthopaedic Surgery Medical Group, Inc. A graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dr. Shanfield completed his internship and residency at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. Dr. Shanfield has served in several elected and appointed positions at St. Jude Medical Center, including Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief of Staff, and Chairman of Surgery. He was also assistant clinical professor of orthopaedics at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. In 2000, 2004, 2005 and 2006 the Orange County Medical Association honored him as a Physician of Excellence in orthopedics. Active in his local community, Dr. Shanfield serves as the volunteer medical director as a non sworn officer for the North County SWAT Team. Dr. Shanfield is also a Board Member of Fullerton Community Bank and a member of their Audit Committee. A CAP member since 1998, Dr. Shanfield was elected to the CAP Board of Directors in 2007..
DAVID SIEVERS, MD
DAVID SIEVERS, MD practices surgical oncology with a sub-specialty in general surgery. A board certified surgeon, Dr. Sievers graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and is currently Chief of Surgery at Providence Tarzana Medical Center. Dr. Sievers is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Los Angeles Surgical Society and Society of Graduate Surgeons. A CAP member since 1981, Dr. Sievers has been a member of the CAP Board of Directors since 1983.
CHARLES STEINMANN, MD
CHARLES STEINMANN, MD has been a practicing board certified anesthesiologist since 1977. Currently a staff physician at Hoag Hospital and the Newport Plaza Surgical Center, Dr. Steinmann received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where he subsequently completed his residency in anesthesiology. Dr. Steinmann completed a fellowship in pain management in Zurich, Switzerland and received the 2001 Award of Excellence from the Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative. During a four-year sabbatical in England, Dr. Steinmann studied for his master’s degree in finance and began work on his M. Phil in Finance at the University of Exeter. A CAP member since 1981, Dr. Steinmann was elected to the MPT Board of Trustees in 2005.
LISA THOMSEN, MD, FAAFP
LISA THOMSEN, MD, FAAFP is a Glendora board certified family practitioner in private practice since 1999. Dr. Thomsen graduated from the University of California, San Francisco in 1987 before completing her residency training at the University of Southern California-PIH Family Medicine Residency Program. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and also serves on the Medical Practice Affairs Subcommittee for the California Academy of Family Physicians. Before starting her own practice, she was CEO of Foothill Family Practice Medical Group. A former Chief of Staff at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Thomsen also served on the Citrus Valley Health Partners Board (CVHP). She is currently a member of the Transformation Partnership Task Force for CVHP and is a Disaster Healthcare Volunteer for Los Angeles County. Dr. Thomsen has been a CAP member since 2003.
PHILLIP UNGER, MD
PHILLIP UNGER, MD is a board certified Fullerton radiologist, in private practice since 1975. Dr. Unger earned his medical degree from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Canada, as well as the American College of Radiology. An active member of the Orange County Medical Association, California Medical Association, American Medical Association, and the American College of Radiology, Dr. Unger also served as 1984/1985 President of the Orange County Radiological Society. Dr. Unger joined the MPT Board of Trustees in 1986 and has been a CAP member since 1978.
PAUL "ROCKY" WEBER, MD
PAUL "ROCKY" WEBER, MD is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist who has practiced at Women’s Hospital/Long Beach Memorial Medical Center since 1981. Dr. Weber earned his medical degree and PhD from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and completed a one-year fellowship program for physician leaders sponsored by Memorial Health System. He completed his residency training in obstetrics/gynecology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance. Dr. Weber currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Physician Society of the Memorial Health System and is an associate clinical professor at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology. Formerly Chief of Staff and Chief of Obstetrics at Women’s Hospital, Dr. Weber has also held positions on its Board of Trustees, Board of Directors, and Executive Committee. A CAP member since 1981, Dr. Weber was elected to the CAP Board of Directors in 2005.
BRUCE WEIMER, MD
BRUCE WEIMER, MD is a board certified neurologist in private practice in Glendora. Dr. Weimer received his pre-med undergraduate, medical graduate and neurology training at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. After serving as chief resident in Neurology, he joined the University of Pittsburgh Neurology Department as a clinical instructor and researcher. In 1985, Dr. Weimer moved to Southern California to establish his private practice. A member of Foothill Presbyterian Hospital's Medical Executive Committee, Dr. Weimer also serves as chairman of its Physician Well-being Committee and was recently recruited to serve on the hospital’s Palliative Care Committee. Dr. Weimer was elected to the CAP Board of Directors in 2009 and has been a CAP member since 2000.
GLENN H. WEISSMAN, MD
GLENN H. WEISSMAN, MD is a board certified otolaryngologist, head and neck surgeon and facial plastic surgeon. He is on staff at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, and City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte. Dr. Weissman previously served as chief of the Department of Otolaryngology at Methodist Hospital, and medical director for the Specialty Surgical Center in Arcadia. A graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Dr. Weissman completed his surgical residency at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, and specialty training at Boston University. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery. Before being elected to the MPT Board of Trustees in 2009, Dr. Weissman was a member of the CAP Board of Directors from 2004 to 2009. Dr. Weissman has been a CAP member since 1999.
TAMMY WU, MD
TAMMY WU, MD is a board certified Modesto plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Dr. Wu graduated from the Program in Liberal Medical Education at Brown University, a curriculum that encourages medical students to pursue their interests in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences as they prepare for their careers as physicians. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Southern Illinois University Integrated Plastic Surgery Program. Currently on staff at the University of California, Davis as a volunteer assistant professor and as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery of Touro University, Dr. Wu also teaches several rotating medical students, physician assistant students, and nursing students. Dr. Wu runs a Modesto program called Surgical Artistry Academy which teaches the community about plastic surgery and medicine in general. A CAP member since 2006, Dr. Wu was elected to the CAP Board of Directors in 2009.
